TIL HIV is very treatable

Apparently, there is a big difference between HIV and AIDS. AIDS is the final stage of HIV in which one's immune system is severely damaged, and he/she will die of something his/her body couldn't fight off because his/her immune system cannot handle it.
HIV on the other hand, can be managed by drugs. The medications can reduce viral load to undetectable levels and keep immune system functioning at full capacity. As long as a HIV+ person manages his medicine properly and not get into some terrible disease, it is entirely possible for him to die of something else entirely well into old age.
